About: Through the video, I inhabit the space of the aquarium, dissolving the boundaries between observer and observed, much like Cortázar’s narrator, who becomes the axolotl and echoes meditations on metamorphosis and the permeability between species. By placing my own image within the aquarium, I investigate the tension between looking and being looked at, presence and otherness. The film has been developed partly in New York at MonoNoAware in an underwater filmmaking on 16mm workshop while I was participating in a residency with Residency Unlimited in NYC.
